To investigate effect of strain rate on tensile properties and stress relaxation effect of Zr-Sn-Nb (N18) alloy, a series of uniaxial tests were completed in the temperature range from 20 degrees C to 700 degrees C. The results show that, the tensile properties including elastic modulus, yield stress, tensile strength, percentage elongation and percentage reduction of area are greatly affected by the temperature. Except for the elastic modulus, the direction of material and strain rate also have influence on the other tensile properties. This alloy presents dynamic strain aging obviously in the temperature range from 300 degrees C to 450 degrees C. In this temperature range, with increasing temperature, the percentage elongation and strain rate sensitivity appears a sudden drop and obtain the minimum value, the work-hardening rate presents a peak value, and yield stress decreases less.
