摘要
This research aimed to map and discuss data referring to dropout in undergraduate courses in Education at the Open University of Brazil (UAB), at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL). As a research question, there are: what are the dropout rates of students in the Pedagogy course at UAB / UFAL between 2007 until 2018 and its implications for this teaching modality? In this way, research, with a mixed approach and exploratory in nature, uses documentary research as its methodology, which collaborates with the interpretation of raw data for analysis and analytical treatment. For the development of the research, data collection was carried out with the Institutional Coordination of Distance Education (CIED), in order to collect data on the number of enrolled, graduates and general dropout data. The results obtained from the responsible bodies show the inconsistency of the general data. This differentiation of data leads us to reflect on the reasons that lead to the disclosure of data incompatible with reality, and also indicates the need for researchers' attention, when they perform data collection from sources still without analytical treatment.
