Copper(I)-catalyzed animation of halonaphthalenes and 6-bromoquinoline with alpha,omega-diamines A[(CH2)(3)NH2](2) [A = NH, NH(NH2)(2)NH, O(CH2CH2O)(2)] affords alpha-mono- and/or alpha,omega-disubstitution products.
