摘要
The application of mordenite in the adsorptive removal of Fe(III) from aqueous solution was investigated. Zeolite mordenite was synthesized hydrothermally without using an organic template. The synthesized material was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The effect of various experimental parameters viz. pH, contact time and initial metal concentration on the adsorption process was studied. The Langmuir model, with a correlation value of 0.998, accurately explains the adsorption data, demonstrating that Fe(III) adsorption from aqueous solution proceeds via monolayer adsorption. The adsorption kinetic model was well-fitted by pseudo-second-order kinetic model.
