摘要
Parsonsia praeruptis is described from the Surville Cliffs, North Cape. It differs from the widespread New Zealand species P. capsularis by its non-twining, non-climbing habit, shorter, ovate leaves with a subcordate base, smaller inflorescences, and glabrous calyx lobes. P. praeruptis is an ultramafic endemic and has a total range of less than 120 ha. Its conservation status is assessed as "Rare" because of threats from browsing animals and weeds. A key to New Zealand species of Pausonsia is provided.
