A recipe for mission and vision statements - Interface

Mission and vision statements can be constructed as Unifying Action Declarations (UADs). This construction gives mission and vision statements added weight by channeling group formation forces into task performance. UADs can be powerful as a tool of manipulation of group members. However, it should be remembered that although the UAD is a convenient tool for conjuring task performance and group formation, it is never a substitute for honest and open discussion.
