摘要
The halogen oxide radicals and the gas-phase reactions involving XO radicals were analyzed. The potential role of XO radicals in stratospheric chemistry was also discussed. The XO radicals played an important role in the halogen-ozone interactions from the upper stratosphere to the marine boundary layer. For iodine, the lower overall rate constant significantly reduced the effectiveness of ozone destruction compared to chlorine. The impact of even very small injections of iodine in the stratosphere strongly depended on the products formed in the IO reactions with ClO and BrO, since the reaction channels could lead to ozone loss cycles.
