摘要
Successful ageing is constituted by well retained cognition, subjective well-being (SWB), and activity. This study examined interactions between these factors. 167 senior citizens (60 to 98 years old) were assessed using a semi-structured interview (for activity and SWB) and the Neuropsychological Assessment Battery (NAB for cognition). All factors decline with age. Activity correlates significantly with all factors, especially everyday activities and cognitive activity correlate significantly with cognition but social activity does not. Cognitive subscales (attention, language and executive functioning) interact with activity and SWB, but memory only correlates with cognitive activity; spatial ability is independent of the other factors. Cognitive and emotional status are influenced separately by cognitive and social activities, respectively. Thus, activities might have a protective influence during ageing.
