Self-similarity of multiplicity distributions and the KNO scaling

摘要
A notion of self-similarity is introduced for the subsequent selection of smaller subsets of events. Under certain assumptions this similarity leads to a KNO-like form for multiplicity distributions for arbitrary rapidity intervals. As a consequence it excludes intermittency.
