摘要
To each his own: Copolymerization of styrene and isoprene by catalysts Sc1 (syndiospecific for styrene) and Sc2 (cis-1,4-specific for isoprene) with a chain-shuttling agent iBu 3Al gives block copolymers of syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) and cis-1,4-polyisoprene (PIP). Replacement of Sc2 with Sc3 (high 3,4-selectivity for isoprene polymerization) gives selectively copolymers having sPS and 3,4-PIP blocks. Copyright © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
