The effect of Mn on the microstructure of spray-deposited Al-20Si-5Fe-3Cu-1Mg alloy

摘要
The effect of manganese (Mn) addition on spray deposited Al-20Si-5Fe-3Cu-1Mg alloy was investigated. Microstructure of the spray-deposited specimen was examined with the help of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) fitted with an energy-dispersive X-ray analysis system, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and trasmission electron microscopy (TEM). The presence of Mn was found to alter the characteristics of the spray-deposited alloy by sustituting needle-like compounds with particle-like compounds.
