摘要
Existing models of galloping set up for overhead power transmission lines are not complete to characterize their complex coupling properties. In this paper, a three degree-of-freedom model is presented to account for the impacts of aerodynamic properties and movement coupling relationships. It can be deduced from the model that traditional prevailing galloping mechanisms can be regarded as unique cases under special conditions, and the galloping amplitude is governed by the aerodynamic factors and movement coupling properties. Taking the inter-movement coupling characters and the timing nature of aerodynamic loads into account, engineering galloping simulations are carried out in this paper. The simulation results indicate that the galloping traces are crescent shaping instead of the traditional ellipse obtained using models of literature. The effectiveness of inter-phase spacers method for anti-galloping of power transmission lines has also been proved in this paper by adopting the proposed simulation method and practical inter-phase spacers are designed for a 110kv transmission line in Hubei province China. The proposed model, simulation method and anti-galloping measure may be helpful for utilities to assess transmission line galloping performance and design of mitigating strategies.
