摘要
This study aimed to investigate the factors affecting mobile game genre preference for older adults in Hong Kong. Experiments with four mobile games and face-to-face interviews were conducted with 40 adults over the age of 65. Six factors that affected the game preference of older adults were measured. Results showed a significant effect of age-related physical declines on game preference. Older adults with self-reported physical declines gave lower factor ratings than those without physical problems. Although prior video game experience positively influenced the game preference of older adults, no evidence is found for the relationship between older adults' previous war experience or violent incidents. Results revealed that the education level affects older adults' game preference, indicating that older adults with secondary education gave higher factor ratings than those with primary education. These findings were important for understanding the factors that affected the game preference of older Chinese individuals.
