Improvement of transport properties of B2O3-added (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox silver-sheathed tapes

A small amount of B2O3 was added to the (Bi, Pb)(2)Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox in silver-sheathed (Bi2223/Ag) tapes. Our results showed that B2O3 addition can accelerate the formation of the high-T-c phase (T-c approximate to 110 K), enhance flux pinning strength and decrease weak links. The transport properties of the tapes, therefore, were improved by B2O3 addition.
