摘要
A cryogenic magnetic chuck has been used recently in coolant-free precision grinding for mould and die manufacturing. Although it helps to conduct heat effectively from the ground surface to the bottom side of the workpiece, the associated effect on the geometrical accuracy often causes problems due to the induced larger thermal bending moment. The aim of this study is to investigate the thermal bending moment, the stress and the deflection of the workpiece in surface grinding with a cryogenic magnetic chuck by the finite difference method and the numerical multiple integral method. The results show that a temperature of cryogenic chuck that is below the temperature of the environment is disadvantageous due to the induced larger thermal bending moment and deflection.
