摘要
Critical situations like the Corona pandemic or stressful situations within the family, such as separation, multilocality or disputes, represent a major challenge for families. They meet these challenges with practices of Doing Family, which, according to the theory of mediatization, increasingly take place with and in media spaces. This is accompanied by a wide range of potentials to successfully cope with life on the one hand, but by challenges such as social disadvantage due to unequal opportunities to participate in a digitised society on the other. Based on the findings of the study "Media Cultures in Families Living Under Straitened Circumstances" and its application to the situation of families in Germany during the Corona pandemic, this article presents examples of Doing Family practices with media using the example of virtual visualisation of family and the creation of audio-visual co-presence.
