摘要
The intense integration of digital technologies into the economy over the last few years has affected a large part of the population of an economically advanced world. The rapid development of society, through modern technology, has fundamentally changed the availability of information - the way to look for, access, and work with it. Currently, the ability to adapt to ICT decreases, especially with increasing age, declining education, declining social status of the household, and economic activity. The contribution highlights the level of willingness to learn new digital skills and the development of the regular use of an Internet connection by the citizens of the Slovak Republic. Digital skills range from those that enable basic social skills to skills that allow interaction with systems and services and skills that meet the needs of employers and maximize employability. Long-term mapping of the Slovak population's adaptation to modern information and communication technologies shows that after years of a rising trend there is a period of stagnation. The response to this is to support the development of a digital literacy training system through national digital strategies and concepts to prevent the digital divide and fulfill the demands of society. The aim of the paper is to point out the issue of the digital divide in terms of the level of adaptation of the population to ICT technology.
