摘要：
High data-rate digital communication systems and high-density data storage systems must cope with significant ISI and noise. One method to achieve the needed BER performance in the presence of these impairments is to use iterative soft decoding methods. This paper summarizes the concepts of iterative soft decoding using LDPC codes. An important issue in using LDPC codes is the hardware complexity associated with the decoding, and a couple of methods to construct structured LDPC codes that are computation friendly are discussed.
