The 'Lucidarius' as source for Wolfram von Eschenbach

Scholars have generally been cautious about recognising the 'Lucidarius' as a possible source for Wolfram. This article seeks to show that Wolfram knew and made use of the text (especially Book I). This is particularly true for the area of the 'wonders of the East' and astronomy/astrology. As the problems of the textual history of the 'Lucidarius' are the subjects of a lively debate at present, the final part of the article examines how and in what form Wolfram could have got to know the work.
