Modified Homotopy Perturbation Method for Damped Nonlinear Oscillators

摘要
The homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is modified to solve the governing equation for systems with the damping effect. The proposed method (LH) is applied to damped duffing oscillators (DDO) and damped non-linear Klein-Gordon (DKG) equation. The results obtained from LH are compared with those obtained from HPM with exponential decay terms [Facta Universitatis, Series: Mechanical Engineering19, 735 (2021)] and numerical calculation (RK4). LH yields highly accurate solutions to DDO and DKG in comparison to HPM.
