Forgiveness Among Maduraness Ethnic: The Relation Between Religiosity, Interpersonal Attachment and Personality Trait

Forgiveness is one way to resolve conflicts that occur between individuals, groups, and even among nations/countries. Forgiveness is shown to improve psychological well-being, life satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, gratitude, and internal locus of control. This research aims at examining model of forgiveness among Maduranese ethnic. This research hypothesis is a model of religiosity and interpersonal attachment influences forgiveness through agreeableness and neuroticism mediator variables is fit. This research uses forgiveness, agreeableness trait, religiousness, and interpersonal attachment questionnaires. The subject in this research are 253 Maduranese Muslim ethnic people. The result of this research shows that model of influences religiosity and interpersonal attachment to forgiveness through mediator variables aagreeableness and neuroticism is fit. Therefore, this forgiveness model can explain Nashori's model (2012) presented that gives the effect of religiosity on forgiveness through two traits. Forgiveness model in Maduranese ethnicity is assertive which religiosity plays a very important role in forgiving behavior. Religiosity affects forgiveness and interpersonal attachment through the agreeableness and neuroticism collectively in Maduranese ethnicity.
