摘要
Due to the increase in the number of individuals with life-threatening or limiting disease, palliative care has been accepted as a special area in medicine. Palliative care in children is different from adult patients, and requires a different approach. Pediatric palliative care is a top-level care system that focuses on improving the quality of life for the child and family, taking care of physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. The purpose of this review is to define the properties of pediatric palliative core, to indicate the differences from adults and to discuss palliative care models including the role of medical professionals.
