摘要
Based on data from the Third Wave Survey of Chinese Women's Social Status, we analysed the relationship between gender role attitudes and the self-efficacy of older adults. We found that gender equality attitude had a positive correlation with self-efficacy among both male and female older adults, whereas the gender role division attitude correlated positively with self-efficacy only among women. Moreover, gender role attitudes acted as mediators and moderators for self-efficacy. Promoting the concept of gender equality can lead to the liberation of both older women and men and have a positive impact on increasing self-efficacy in both genders.
