Synergistic action of nanometer ZnO prepared by sol-gel method on halogen free flame-retarded polypropylene

摘要
The powders of nanometer ZnO were prepared by sol-gel method and bringing in 3 different organic coordination agents (stearic acid, citric acid, and oxalic acid), and then the Intumescent name retardant/Polypropylene (IFR/PP) were prepared by adding the nanometer ZnO. The effect of synergistic action between nanometer ZnO and Halogen free flame retardants on flame retardancy of IFR/PP materials was studied. The results show that nanometer ZnO prepared by stearic acid organic coordination agents sol-gel method improved compact degree of carbon layer, increased the high temperature carbon residues and the flame retardancy of IFR/PP.
