摘要
Infrared (IR)-based human detection research has recently received much attention, especially in pedestrian detection and vehicle safety applications. However, human detection using IR images in non-urban environment has not been investigated at a similar pace due to its technical difficulties. In this paper, we evaluate some algorithms for urban environment against non-urban IR images. Differences of IR-based human detection in urban and non-urban environments are reviewed. Extensive preliminary experiments are performed using IR images with forest background.
