Solving rolling-theory problems by the boundary-element method

摘要：
A new approach to steady-rolling problems is proposed, on the basis of the boundary-element method. The nonlinearity of the medium is taken into account by dividing the deforming metal into linearly ductile zones. The contact stress is calculated for different rolling conditions, and the results obtained are compared with experimental data and the Chekmarev analytical solution. The agreement is satisfactory.
