Demand Response in Greece: An introductory mobile application

In the vastly changing field of electrical systems, the demand side is expected to obtain a key role towards the optimal and energy efficient functionality of the future smart grid. Despite the wide research on Demand Side Management methods already undertaken in several countries in EU and around the world, in Greece there is a lack of any sufficient experience on demand side projects or data on Greek consumers' energy behavior. This study highlights the importance of country-specific research and focuses on analyzing the Greek context both at the demand and supply side. Finally, it presents a mobile application that aims to prepare and motivate Greek consumers for an active participation in DR programs.
