Did the moderates of the Alliance Democratique blur the right/left opposition in northern France ? If the Nord voters send more MPs linked with the Alliance at the beginning of the xxth century than those of the Pas-de-Calais, soon fatigue sets in and the ratio is inverted. Pas-de-Calais becomes a stronghold of the Alliance. Why?.
