摘要
In this paper results from a study based on the application of computational fluid dynamics techniques are compared to those from in vivo measurements performed by means of magnetic resonance with regard to a case of the total cavopulmonary connection. This is a surgical procedure adopted to treat complex congenital malformations of the right heart and consists basically in a connection of both venae cavae directly to the right pulmonary artery. The distribution of the blood flow in the pulmonary arteries, which, depends on the geometry of the surgical reconstruction, is analysed quantitatively with both techniques on a single patient.
