摘要
In this paper miniature low profile UWB monopole antenna which consist of a rectangular patch radiator and a defective ground plane is presented. The proposed antenna has a small size of 25 mm x 20 mm (L x W), is printed on a FR4 substrate with thickness of 0.8mm and relative permittivity of 4.4. To miniaturize the antenna size, the defective ground plane is introduced. The effect of slot in the ground plane structure results in band from 3.0 to 10.6 GHz. High Frequency structure Simulator (HFSS) software tool was used for the simulation. Simulated and experimental results are compared and are in good agreement. The return loss of the antenna, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), radiation patterns of the antenna are the parameter considered for performance evaluation.
