A K-Band FMCW Radar with the Receiving Antenna Diversity in the Car Detection Applications

摘要
This paper presents the design of patch antenna arrays implemented in the frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system at K-band. Both the transmitting (TX) and receiving (RX) antennas are consisted of phased array, where two arrays are used for RX to form the space diversity in the car detection applications. The system uses a frequency at 24.125 GHz with 250MHz bandwidth to implement a TX/RX based on the linear frequency modulation (LFM) with a TX power by 1mW. The output of this FMCW radar system provides the peak values of signals after the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is performed through the digital signal processor (DSP) at the intermediate frequency on the two RX channels. The experimental results are presented to show the reflection response of a vehicle within FMCW radar cover range.
