摘要:
The paper aims to analyze colonial violence in the thought of Mamdani and Fanon, relating it to the Western civilizing discourse. Bestiality is taken to the home, to the brain and to the colonized body which, unfortunately, leaves "indelible" sequels. After a process of displacement of subjectivities, once abandoned its assimilation, the liberation of the colonized needs to be materialized through revolution. For both Mamdani and Fanon, colonial violence was effected at the anatomical-physiological, psychological, cultural, economic, and political levels, with racism as a core instrument in the construction of the inferiority complex for the colonized and the superiority for the colonizers. Colonial violence resulted in the attempted destruction of the economic, political, and sociocultural systems that Africans had demonstrated prior to colonization. However, African worldviews continue to transmit their humanistic values. Therefore, for their abolition, the refusal of the "white mask" is and will be the prelude to building awareness of self and other.
