摘要
Introduction: University education may affect the mental health of university students. Objective: To identify the state of depression, anxiety and health-related quality of life in university students of physical education and sports. Methods: Cross-sectional study conducted in 100 university students. Depression, anxiety, health-related quality of life, VO2max, waist circumference, and sociodemographic variables were investigated. Results: Prevalences of depression and anxiety of 22 and 10%, respectively, were identified. Scores of health-related quality of life ranged from 70 to 100 in different domains. Inverse associations of depression and anxiety were found with age and VO2max. Some health-related quality of life domains were associated with waist circumference, depression, anxiety, and VO2max. Conclusions: In the sample, symptoms of depression and anxiety, and adequate scores of health-related quality of life were detected.
