Based on the mechanism of heat transfer enhancement of condensation on vertical surfaces of corrugated plates due to surface tension effect between condensate and surfaces, a mathematical model to calculate condensation heat transfer coefficients on the corrugated plate surface is established. Comparison is made for the heat transfer effect between corrugated plates and an equivalent vertical flat one. Since the results of calculation favor smaller corrugation, a two-scale corrugation is suggested, which could compromise both heat transfer effect and cross section area for flows. and it makes the heat transfer coefficient 2 to 3 times higher than that of on an equivalent flat one.
