Adaptive Polarimetric Detection for Mismatched Signal in Non-Gaussian Sea Clutter

摘要
In this paper, we address the polarimetric target detection problem in the non-Gaussian sea clutter environment. We model the non-Gaussian sea clutter as a compound Gaussian model based on its heterogeneous and time-varying characteristics. Taking advantage of the adaptive beamformer orthogonal rejection test (ABORT), we develop two novel polarimetric two-step generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) detectors in the presence of the mismatched signal. Specifically, the fictitious signal is introduced to the null hypothesis to reject the mismatched signal, and we derive two selective two-step GLRT detectors. The performances of the proposed detectors are evaluated by conducting the experiments using the simulated data and the real sea clutter data. The numerical results show the constant false alarm rate (CFAR) properties and the significant performances of the proposed detectors.
