摘要
There are an amount of small molecular organics in water treated by ultrafiltration process which may be used as carbon source by bacteria in pipe networks. In this paper the effects of temperature on bacteria regrowth in water after ultrafiltration were fully studied. Heterotrophic plate counting (HPC), microbial activity and turbidity changes at different water temperatures were carefully investigated. All results showed that there were still a small amount of bacteria in water after ultrafiltration. Within three weeks, HPC increased by three orders of magnitude with water temperature at 22 degrees C or 15 degrees C. Even at 5 degrees C, HPC also increased by two orders of magnitude. Temperature is a key factor in bacterial regrowth in water treated by ultrafiltration.
