This paper presents the results of a numerical simulation of the interaction between solid particles and near-wall turbulence. The fluid flow in a horizontal channel is solved using direct numerical simulation. For the particle motion, a Lagrangian approach is used. The particles are relatively large, and cover several collocation points in the fluid. Two-way coupling is used to account for the effect of the particles on the structure of the near-wall turbulence, and on the main stream. It is shown that the presence of large particles in the near-wall region enhances the intensity of the carrier phase velocity fluctuations, Based on the computational data, it was established that the particles with large relaxation time move in a random way and do not accumulate along the low velocity streaks, as smaller particles do.
