摘要：
The futuristic image of the city represented in films is compared with real-life trends in town planning. The aim is to prove that the settings for such films are misguided as they always portray the most sinister aspects of future urban landscapes when expressing scenarios related to the foreseeable future, when, in truth, trends in town planning actually point towards quite undramatic scenarios. The way functional urban spaces are dealt with by the film industry is analysed as well as the move from utopia to dystopia.
