Kinetics of reaction between palladium(II) chloride complex and dimethylamineborane was investigated. Experiments were carried out at various initial concentrations of palladium(II) complex ions and reductant, ionic strengths and temperatures. Rate constants of the reaction were determined. Parameters of Arrhenius equation (E-a = 47.4 +/- 8.0 kJ/mol, A = 3.76 x 10(8) s(-1)) were calculated from empirical kinetic data. The rate law as well as mechanism of the reaction was also presented. The reaction was found to be second-ordered in respect to PdCl42- and pseudo-first ordered in respect to DMAB. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
