摘要
The existence of two NNW-SSE active faults has been shown by comparison of precision levellings (1948 and 1980). The 1997 levelling shows that they are still working and that the region of Huy has tilted to the SSE. Moreover the longitudinal section of the bedrock underneath the present flood-plain of the Meuse shows the existence of three major depressions generated by a normal faulting movement since the last erosion phase of the river. Finally, the geomorphology of the Meuse valley shows that those faults were already active at the beginning of the Quaternary.
