摘要
The paper presents a mathematical analysis of the stationary convection-diffusion equation for diffuse pollution of small rivers with due regard for longitudinal dispersion of dissolved contaminants. Various types of specific distribution of mass flow of pollutants are considered. In certain conditions, the distribution of pollutant concentrations in the river weakly depends on the mass flow rate. To calculate the concentration fields, an approximate analytical dependence is obtained. We estimate the integral mass flow rate of pollutants and the coefficient of longitudinal dispersion for the Barnaulka river (Altai Krai, the Russian Federation) using the optimization method. It has been found that the neglect of longitudinal dispersion may lead to the erroneous outcome.
