摘要
In the effort to understand the function of common sense, Alfred Schutz considers Cervantes' famous work from the point of view of the conflict between common sense (= Sancho Pancha) and what is inferior to it or overwhelms it (= Don Quixote). In the way that a grammar mistake mobilizes grammatical rules in order to correct it, we follow Schutz' analysis and retrace the "social grammar", that is the ensemble of the rules of the description of the sense of reality. Furthermore, based on the role that Schutz attributes on trust in the economy of common sense, we try to analyze the passage from the time of heroes to the time of men. This passage commences during Cervantes' times and he captures it in the struggle between a vulgar peasant and an aristocrat chevalier. The brilliant victory of Sancho Pancha augurs the pre-eminence of the political ideas of modern era.
