Marriage and divorce rate of the population of the Volga-Vyatka Region before and during the great patriotic war (1939-1945)

The author defines and analyzes the main trends in the marriage of the population of the Volga-­Vyatka region on the eve and during the Great Patriotic War. In 1939—1940, there was a decrease in the number of marriages. In urban settlements marriages are made larger. The age composition of the spouses has changed. Divorce rates remained low with a predominance of divorces in urban areas. The complication of the divorce procedure made the cases of the official breakup of the family in 1945 isolated cases.
