摘要
The current era has generated a surge of advanced diabetes technologies. Young people with diabetes and their families require detailed, structured diabetes education in order to optimize device use. There is need for youth and their families to participate in both the selection of particular devices for personal use, and comprehensive education regarding the safe and effective implementation of such technologies. The education process can efficiently ensure that youth and their families receive realistic expectations of the role that advanced technologies play in diabetes management while avoiding disappointment, sub-optimal outcomes, and the premature discontinuation of such systems.
