摘要
A fatty alcohol was isolated from the leaves of Leea asiatica (Leeaceae). This is the first time when any compound was isolated from the plant. Antioxidant study of the isolated compound (fraction) revealed that fraction possess strong antioxidant activity. The compound at 20 mu g/ml concentration possesses 39.12% DPPH center dot scavenging effect and 35.26% NO center dot scavenging effect respectively. Thus the isolated fatty alcohol could be a future drug molecule in the treatment of various oxidative stress related diseases.
