Prime Minister Tony Blair's Labor Party is "strongly committed to an essentially negative goal: it will not be seen as 'old Labor.' This commitment pervades the thinking of Blair and his colleagues and it imparts a unique dynamic to the party's behavior in government. It also means that Blair is unlikely to experience any serious challenge to his leadership for some time."
