Ubiquitous and context-aware services in future mobile networks

In recent years mobile networks have been moving towards more open and high-speed capable platforms, suitable besides voice not only for simple text but more rich content and services such as video streaming and picture mails intercommunicating with the Internet. Another important trend is the emergence of semantic rich and proactive services. Current mobile Internet services are focusing on service core functionalities and simple personalisation mechanisms. Advanced service delivery in future mobile networks will require cooperative discovery of context information in an ubiquitous computing environment, supporting users in personalisation of services by providing ways to state and manage users' preferences and dislikes.
