摘要
This work presents the characterization of the physico-chemical, thermal, and morphological properties of the Buried Fiber (BF) extracted from Agave americana L plant leaves that were submitted to burial in soil. The results showed the main components of these BF are cellulose (63.12%), hemicelluloses (17%) and lignin (5.02%). In addition, their crystallinity index is (53 %) with crystalline size of 2.87 nm. Finally, their thermo gravimetric analysis indicates that they are thermally stable until 215 degrees C. These results suggest that these BF can be used as suitable reinforcement fibers for bio composites.
