ON THE ROLE OF THE CHURCH AND CULTURE UPON THE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS FROM THE END OF THE 17TH CENTURY

In our study we assume that international relations in the early modern era were closely linked to the religious life. Also, from the idea that cultural life was marked by church we emphasize the Church's contribution regarding drawing international relations. In fact, we will see that in the Church links with certain religious centers reflects also the level of the state policy. Binomial Church and culture as a determinant of international relations have not been studied in Romanian space, much less for the end of the eighteenth century, about which there is no work dedicated on this line. In this regard the focus of this study will fall, particularly on links which Metropolitan Dosoftei concerned. The relationship between the Church - culture and international relations will be surprised by Metropolitan Dosoftei gestures (1624-1693). We emphasize that we are talking about a similar policy to the state and the Church. The mentioned facts are visible during the Metropolitan Dosoftei when prerequisites dependence between intentions towards the Church and the State, represented by Constantin Cantemir are configured. This was reflected in the early eighteenth century, when Romanian policy representatives follows the same line as the Church. To what extent can we speak of a line followed by the Church and not the state or how similar were the two directions emphasized in our study, without deviating from the specific beginning of the modern world, located between the spiritual and temporal spheres.
