High hopes and dilemmas for a cervical cancer vaccine

Researchers have developed two different vaccines against human papillomavirus(HPV). In clinical trials, both prevented persistent infection against this widespread, cancer-causing virus in a whopping one hundred percent of the vaccinated women and reduced cervical abnormalities by more than ninety percent.
